About map locations

Records retain this city or place label in the Atlas sources. The map keeps each record's own location limits. A shared city label does not establish a municipal boundary, parcel jurisdiction or a complete list of operating buildings.

Permit and comment

Kapolei Cable Landing Station

Water quality and discharge · Wildlife, wetlands and stormwater

Hawaii Department of Health, Clean Water Branch issued standard review comments identifying water-quality, discharge-permit and stormwater-planning requirements for the Hawaiki Kapolei cable landing project. Its letter appears in the final environmental assessment with the applicant's response. This is historical review correspondence, not a notice of violation or measured pollution finding. All later permit and compliance outcomes are unknown in this review. A new source check does not establish present site conditions.

Record status: Unknown. The current outcome of the specific water-quality requirements and later permit/compliance processes is unknown in this bounded historical review. Applicant commitments and the EA review do not establish implemented controls, measured discharges or present compliance.

Event date: January 4, 2017
Source publication date: Not established
Disposition date: Not established
Concern sources checked: October 18, 2026

The actual agency letter is dated January 4, 2017; the January9 received stamp is a separate receipt. April11 is the later applicant response date, not the agency comment or source publication. The first public posting date of the original EA packet is unknown. A May23 filename and cover stamps are not substituted for its publication or the January4 comment date.

Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources

Company statement published by an agency or court.

Hawaiki Submarine Cable USA stated through its consultant that it would comply with water-quality requirements, obtain applicable permits and use protective planning practices. The consultant also described consultation with the Army Corps. These are applicant commitments in the agency-published response, not verified implementation or current compliance findings.

The April 11, 2017 Tetra Tech letter expressly answers the same January4 Clean Water Branch comments on behalf of Hawaiki Submarine Cable USA and TE SubCom. The letter date is known; its first public posting is not. No new company operating role or extension to the later expansion is inferred.

Response publication: Not established. Response sources checked: October 18, 2026.

Rules and source checks.

These are county source reviews linked to the retained records. They do not establish municipal boundaries, city zoning, parcel permission or current compliance.

Honolulu County

Policy context found · Checked October 17, 2026.

The retained City and County land-use ordinance contains a data-processing-facilities definition, with a use-table entry and related parking context. The definition concerns mainframe data processing and excludes general offices and personal computer services.

The posted document is a version-bounded code source; its file path is not an adoption or effective date. No district-table cell is converted into permission for a modern AI campus, and later amendments and individual parcel zoning remain unverified.

Power and water.

Each figure keeps its measure, basis, date and sources. Forecasts, utility requests, generation and IT capacity are different. These figures are not added into a county total.

No separately typed power or water fact is retained for this county cohort yet. That means unknown, not zero use.

The dated record.

The retained event log distinguishes announcements, scheduled dates and status-source checks. A review date is not an opening day. A target never becomes a completed event merely because time passes.

The complete original January 22, 2026 Servpac release describes the existing MTP Building 1 colocation and cloud facility and separates new Building 2 construction. The complete April 7 service account describes current company services but retains future Azure hosting language. This supports existing Building 1 service without transferring completion or commissioning to Building 2, assigning a new tenant role, treating certification as measured performance or inventing a first opening day.
