The signed ordinance passed the Metro Council August 13, 2026 and was approved by the mayor August 14. It pauses acceptance and further processing of specified data-center and telecommunications-hotel land-use applications, also covering building applications for repurposing existing structures. Previously scheduled public-hearing applications have an exception.
The term is 180 calendar days after effectiveness, subject to repeal, extension or earlier final Council action on the code changes. The current effect cannot be inferred without checking later actions. A September Planning Commission recommendation is not Council enactment. Suburban zoning cities require separate jurisdiction review; existing Kentucky legal records are preserved.
