Public concern on the record

Meta Hyperion

Louisiana · Latest recorded activity:

Read record

Power and electric rates · Other

Union of Concerned Scientists requested disclosure of evidence supporting Hyperion's projected power needs and economic claims, citing potential ratepayer consequences. Its July release described a disclosure order; Louisiana Illuminator later reported Meta's appeal. These are attributed accounts, not an independently inspected current order, actual bill result or final commission decision.

Record status: Unknown. The current original commission disposition is unknown in this bounded review. The July disclosure order and later appeal are attributed source accounts; a scheduled vote is not a completed decision. No actual current disclosure compliance, final infrastructure approval or ratepayer impact was verified.

News report

Umatilla County

Oregon · Latest recorded activity:

Read record

Noise · Light · Traffic and construction · Air and generators · Power and electric rates

OPB reported residents' noise, light and traffic concerns near Umatilla-area data centers and modeled possible generator emissions during a regional blackout. Its methodology describes assumptions and revised calculations; Amazon disputed the scenario's likelihood. A later governor letter requests a permitting pause for new or expanded facilities. These records do not establish measured exposure, a violation or closure of existing sites.

Record status: Unknown. The later disposition of the documented nuisance and regional air concerns is unknown in this bounded review. A modeled scenario, company statement or governor's new/expanded-permit pause request does not establish actual outage emissions, independent compliance, implementation for a particular permit or resolution of every existing-site concern.

About this information

What public sources record about data center concerns, with the original attribution, dates and limits.

Counts describe documentation, not harm or severity. Coverage is incomplete. A missing item does not establish that no concern was raised. A resolved procedural petition does not resolve the underlying allegations.

Newest recorded activity first, using the latest known event, disposition, item-source publication or verified company-response publication date. A source-check date never moves an item up the list. Unknown activity dates are excluded when a date range is selected.

How this is tracked.

Each item is individually checked against its public source and an existing Atlas site, campus, project or exact county ID. Event, source publication, disposition and source-check dates stay separate. Unknown dates and outcomes stay unknown. Private residents speaking publicly are labeled Residents; private residents' names are not printed.

Regulator record
An agency-published inspection finding, notice, order or penalty.
Permit and comment
A permit record, public comment period or hearing notice. A notice does not establish approval.
Formal complaint
An agency-published complaint record or count, distinct from a violation finding.
Legal action
A filed action, appeal or notice of intent. Allegations and procedural rulings retain their own scope.
Public concern on the record
Public testimony, a group statement, petition, resolution or recorded letter.
News report
A reported concern attributed to the named outlet, distinct from an agency finding.

The Atlas attributes statements and does not decide who is right. Verified published company responses appear beside the item they address, with their publication basis and relationship to the record. No verified response does not establish refusal. Category counts can overlap and are never a severity ranking.

Open, pending and unknown items require a source recheck within 120 days. The due date does not advance because the website is rebuilt. County-wide items do not create site findings or map pins. The optional neutral Concerns map layer is off by default.
